About our Organisation
Who We Are
Mavambo Orphan Care is a local non- governmental organisation established in 2001 in Zimbabwe with a mission of empowering children to develop their maximum potential by capacitating them to become socially adjusted, self-sustaining, healthy responsible citizens. MOC operates in Harare East (Mabvuku, Tafara, Caledonia and Epworth), Goromonzi, Harare South and Chitungwiza.
Currently, the organisation is funded by USAID, World Education Incorporated (WEI), Steven Lewis Foundation (SLF), CAFOD, Porticus and Misean Cara. MOC provides education assistance, Nutrition, HIV Testing and Counselling, psychosocial support, health, child protection services and economic strengthening to caregivers of these children. MOC operates an Accelerated Literacy and Learning program at Mavambo Learning Centre (MLC).
